We have converted some of the kanji Aule Pages to JSON data. Although converting the HTML-only body elements of our aule pages to XML data is itself trivial, we prefer JSON.
NOTE: Curl® pages designed for {include } can themselves be used as data.

Our Curl® Kanji Web App's and their CSV files are

MS Windows®, Apple and Linux web browser compatible (tested on IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari)

(no PDF's, Flash, Java, SQL or JavaScript involved or required; desktop app versions are coming soon)

but the flashcard app's require that the Curl® Surge RTE browser plugin version 7.0 or 8.0 be installed.

Please note: some of our Kanji review applets use cookies, but some use client-side persistent data and request your approval of the privilege to write their state.
This permits the applet to resume where you last left off studying.

· Katakana, Punctuation and Hiragana Charts: a Curl applet embedded in an HTML page.

· jōyō kanji Curl applet: single definitions in one scrolling grid.

· Review the joyo kanji entries in a web browser app (cycle through all 2136 dictionary entries or use controls to select your start level.)

Study and Review the Henshall Remembering Japanese Characters entries found in Kanjidic2 or just download the CSV text file (unix EOL format;3-line header;15 txt fields) for Excel etc.

The version above uses cookies to track your last card viewed and your preferences;
a version without cookies requires its being noted as "privileged" in your Curl RTE manager (it uses client-side persistent data or CSPD, but no SQL.)

· Review the Henshall Kanji entries in a web browser app (cycle through all 1945 dictionary entries or use controls to select your start level.)

Kanji Aule Browser : a task-specific browser for GTD and kanji study. This Curl web browser application is actually using your browser's HTML engine and provides you a safe browser suitable for a young student. But you must be able to remember your passwords! (And shouldn't you be using pass-phrases?)

CURL  Curl markup and Curl programming  CURL

The study/review app's may require the download and simple install of version 7.x or version 8.0 of the very safe and secure MIT Curl SURGE™ Runtime Engine (RTE) browser plug-in which is available for free. For English, visit SCSK Corp's Curl and CAEDE site at curl.com or for Japanese visit curlap.com. This browser plugin and its Curl macro language from MIT has been used by major Japanese corporations for a decade. Curl Corporation was an MIT spin-off purchased by Sumisho which has now merged with CSK as SCSK.

As an expression-based programming language with macros, Curl is both a web markup and a web app language roughly equivalent to all three of HTML+CSS+JavaScript combined but in a more secure runtime environment. Curl is a client-side computing solution that included client-side data from the beginning. Curl libraries span XML, JSON, SQLite, CSV and more. Long established Curl features such as 3D are only now appearing in HTML5. Curl was marketed in the USA as an alternative to Microsoft Silverlight and Adobe Flash (both of which may be replaced by HTML5 as its committees catch up with Curl - both having begun at MIT under the same DARPA grant.) Server-side Curl is facilitated with a Java ORB. Most libraries are now open source at sourceforge.net or as source code installed with the developer IDE.

Curl documentation is distinctive in that the Curl markup and coding examples can be edited, saved, restored and executed in the documentation viewer itself. We have more Curl programming information at logiquewerks.com and on our tech blog at the communities.curl.com forums homepage.

NOTE: although the HTML pages are encoded in UTF-8, the applets display the UTF-16BE hexadecimal code as their UCS or "Unicode" codepoint - for which I offer my best explanation here.
